Alternating lane closures are coming to State Road 2, starting Monday. The Indiana Department of Transportation says patching, resurfacing and other construction activities will take place between U.S. 41 and Mississippi. Flaggers will direct traffic around the work zone. Construction will continue through mid-November.

Motorists using I-80/94 may soon be allowed to drive on the shoulder to avoid traffic congestion. The Indiana Department of Transportation says a project to improve the highway's traffic flow is now moving into its next phase.

Calumet Avenue in Valparaiso will be closed next week for railroad crossing repairs. The city says Canadian National will repair and repave its crossing between Bush and Billings streets. The closure is scheduled to last from Monday to Friday. Drivers are asked to use Roosevelt Road as a detour.

Ramp closures are coming to the I-65/U.S. 30 interchange. The ramp from southbound I-65 to U.S. 30 will be down to one lane from Friday evening to Sunday evening, while the ramp from westbound U.S. 30 to southbound I-65 will be closed from Friday evening to Monday morning. The ramp from eastbound U.S. 30 to southbound I-65 will be closed next weekend.

Drivers using I-94 in LaPorte County should watch for changing traffic patterns. Starting Wednesday, the two left lanes and shoulders will be closed in both directions between U.S. 421 and U.S. 20. Traffic will be shifted to the right, with two 11-foot lanes in each direction.

Drivers on I-65 should be on the lookout for lane restrictions in Jasper County starting Tuesday. The Indiana Department of Transportation says lanes will be closed overnight south of State Road 114, as crews work to install lane shifts.
