U.S. 30

The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) will study potential upgrades to two major highways. Planning and environmental linkages studies will soon begin for the U.S. 30 and U.S. 31 corridors.

Ramp closures are coming to the I-65/U.S. 30 interchange. The ramp from southbound I-65 to U.S. 30 will be down to one lane from Friday evening to Sunday evening, while the ramp from westbound U.S. 30 to southbound I-65 will be closed from Friday evening to Monday morning. The ramp from eastbound U.S. 30 to southbound I-65 will be closed next weekend.

A crash that closed U.S. 30 for much of Thursday afternoon claimed the life of a former Valparaiso assistant police chief. Valparaiso Police say 86-year-old William "Buddy" Collins died in the two-vehicle crash at U.S. 30 and Porter County Road 325 East.
