Northwest Indiana is positioned to lead the state into the future, says Lieutenant Governor Suzanne Crouch.

The town of St. John is working to conserve water during the hot summer weather, and that includes temporary sprinkling restrictions for residents and businesses.

Who gets to decide how to spend St. John's share of federal COVID money was the topic of a debate during Wednesday's town council meeting. St. John expects to get about $4 million dollars from the American Rescue Plan Act.

St. John property taxpayers won't be getting a break on the Cumulative Capital Development Fund rate in the near future. The town council Wednesday voted to reestablish the CCD Fund at five cents per $100 of assessed valuation.
