South Shore Line trains will once again be replaced by buses midday Monday. Westbound trains 14 and 114 scheduled to arrive at Millennium Station at 10:28 and 11:12 a.m. will be replaced by buses between Carroll Avenue and Gary Metro Center — as will eastbound train 7 scheduled to leave Millennium Station at 8:45 a.m.

Between now and Friday night, the last three eastbound trains of the night will be replaced by buses between Hegewisch and East Chicago. Those trains leave Millennium Station after 9:00 p.m.

On the South Shore Line, some nighttime trains are being replaced by buses between Hegewisch and East Chicago.

More service is coming to the South Shore Line, starting May 14. The railroad is overhauling its schedule with the completion of its Double Track project.

Buying a train ticket from a human ticket agent will soon be a thing of the past on the South Shore Line. Its last two ticket offices at Millennium Station and Carroll Avenue will permanently close Friday, April 26.

The South Shore Line plans to move its Hammond station this summer, as the West Lake Corridor branch continues to take shape. The current station at Hohman Avenue will be replaced by a new Gateway Station three blocks west.

The South Shore Line's Double Track service is expected to open in the next few weeks. The project will add a second track between Gary and Michigan City.

The South Shore Line is once again expanding busing overnight.

Track work at the South Shore Line's Hegewisch station starts Monday.

South Shore Line trains will make an extra stop Thursday and Friday for the Chicago Dental Society Midwinter Meeting.
