NIPSCO proposes new "natural gas peaker plant".

NIPSCO has already begun to clean up the five coal ash ponds on the 123-acre property Michigan City Generating Station. NIPSCO will retire the Michigan City generating station by 2026-2028. On Monday, August 1st beginning at 6:00 pm at the Michigan City’s City Hall the IURC is holding a public hearing at Michigan City Hall to determine if the proposed rate increase is the most cost-effective way for NIPSCO to comply with federal environmental regulations.

The Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission will host a public comment hearing Monday, August 1st in Michigan City on NIPSCO’s plan to pay for the estimated $40 million clean-up at the Michigan City Generation Station with a rate increase. The hearing at Michigan City City Hall is set to begin at 6 p.m. And we bring back our conversation with immigration attorney Alfredo Estrada.
