Full construction on a billion dollars worth of commuter rail projects will begin next month. Northern Indiana Commuter Transportation District President Mike Noland says both the West Lake Corridor and Double Track projects will be "in the ground" in early March.

The South Shore Line isn't planning any service changes this year, despite the ongoing impact of COVID-19. In early January, the Northern Indiana Commuter Transportation District warned passengers that it might have to adjust train schedules, as the COVID surge hit its staff. So far, that hasn't been necessary, according to NICTD President Mike Noland.
