LGBTQ Outreach of Porter County provides a safe space for individuals who may have spent most of their lives unable to discuss their unique experiences openly.

The first National Coming Out Day was organized October 11,1988 and is meant to be a celebrate members of the LGBTQ community who bravely have "come out of the closet" and openly identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, non-binary, queer, asexual or intersex.
