Lane closures are coming to U.S. 30 in Lake County.

Road work returns to I-65 next week.

State Road 2 will be closed west of U.S. 41, starting Monday. Crews will be replacing a bridge between Stateline Road and Calumet Avenue through late June.

Two state highways are scheduled to close Monday for bridge projects.

Efforts to expand passenger rail in Indiana continue to get a boost. The Indiana Department of Transportation says it's getting up to $500,000 to study the Chicago-to-Indianapolis corridor. That money is coming from the Federal Railroad Administration's Corridor Identification and Development (Corridor ID) Program.

The Indiana Department of Transportation is narrowing down the list of potential improvements to U.S. 30 east of Valparaiso. Study teams have identified 55 potential solutions, as part of the ProPEL U.S. 30 study.

Railroad crossing repairs will bring closures to State Road 55 and U.S. 231 next week.

Northbound I-65 will be down to one lane north of State Road 2, starting around 7:00 p.m. Monday.

Northwest Indiana is set to get millions of dollars for road projects. The Indiana Department of Transportation has announced its latest round of Community Crossings Matching Grants. They cover 50 percent of the project cost for larger communities and 75 percent for smaller ones.
