I-94 bridge painting work is scheduled to begin Wednesday in Porter County. The Indiana Department of Transportation says eastbound traffic will be shifted toward the median between U.S. 20 and State Road 49. Overnight lane closures will take place to set up the lane shifts.

Work is beginning on a $32 million concrete pavement restoration project on I-80/94 between the state line and Cline Avenue. The Indiana Department of Transportation says prep work will be taking place on the shoulders until next Wednesday. Between 7:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., crews will clean the shoulders and repair storm drains to prepare for shifted traffic.

A number of road construction projects are getting underway this week. In Valparaiso, State Road 2 is closed at Horse Prairie Avenue for intersection upgrades, including the installation of left turn lanes, with more closures for culvert replacements scheduled for later this year, along with resurfacing work.
