Inflation in the U.S. is at a 40- year high causing food and gas prices to surge. Rapidly rising rents as well as end to federal COVID-19 relief have taken a financial toll on households. Food banks are struggling to meet the demand as federal programs provide less food to distribute and donations diminish.
