Gary School Board

The Gary Community School Corporation has named its new superintendent. Dr. Yvonne Stokes was selected during a special school board meeting Friday.

Gary Mayor Eddie Melton has appointed Glenn Johnson to the Gary Community School Board. He's a former member of the Lake Ridge New Tech school board, including nine years as its president.

The Gary School Board hopes to hire a new superintendent before the end of the school year. But before the superintendent search begins, board members are busy searching for a search firm.
