Who's responsible for enforcement of unsafe building violations is changing in the city of Portage.

Mayor Austin Bonta said the change is designed to bring Portage in line with Indiana Code, which typically leaves personnel matters up to a city's board of works.

The Portage City Council will make another attempt at annexing land for a new subdivision.
