A new location has been finalized for Lake County's World Wars I & II and Holocaust Memorial. The Crown Point Board of Works approved a 99-year lease with the Friends of the Veterans Memorial Parkway Wednesday, allowing the memorial to be placed at Sauerman Woods Park. That replaces the space previously set aside near the Crown Point Sportsplex.

Crown Point is hoping to get federal funding to build an overpass at 129th Avenue over I-65. The city's board of works Wednesday agreed to hire engineering firm Butler, Fairman & Seufert to help with the city's application for a grant from the Rebuilding American Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity (RAISE) program.

The City of Crown Point will not have to pay for the demolition of a dilapidated home. The city had selected a contractor to tear down 312 Oak Circle. But Attorney Joe Irak told the board of works Wednesday that the property owner has agreed to hire Ziese and Sons Excavating directly.
