The Valparaiso City Council has finalized its new council districts. After a process that saw six proposals submitted by the public, council members unanimously approved the map drawn up by the council president and vice president with the help of attorney Brian Bosma.

The Valparaiso City Council was presented with a number of options, when it comes to their redistricting plan. Six maps were submitted by the public, in addition to the one drawn up by the council's co-redistricting coordinators, although one was later withdrawn.

Valparaiso City Council districts could be moving next year. The city council passed a resolution Monday outlining the redistricting process, following the 2020 Census.
