Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Baron Hill has won the endorsement of the United Steel Workers Local 1066.
At a rally Monday announcing the endorsement, Mike Millsap, District Director of the United Steelworkers said the local is supporting Hill because of his positions on issues.
Hill says strong labor unions is what built the middle class in this country and they must be protected.
Hill says for too long the steel worker and the steel industry have suffered too many lost jobs and steel is a national security issue as well as a jobs issue. He says if w have strong steel industry, this country can be assured we will have a strong military because we won’t be dependent on the Chinese.
Hill says he is the person to help other Indiana Democratic representatives already fighting on behalf of steel workers.
