In 2009, the Welcome Project at Valparaiso University began collecting regional stories about what it means to belong and to be a good neighbor. They pair these stories with facilitated conversation to help participants forge stronger ties within their communities. The Welcome Project envisions a world in which people are curious about and actively seek to engage those who are different than themselves.
