Regionally Speaking, July 12, 2022

Today, health officials are sounding the alarm as they begin reporting that Omicron BA.5, the latest coronavirus strain that is currently outpacing other variants in infection and has become the dominant strain in the US and abroad. We speak with Dr. Chandana Vavilala, the health officer with the Lake County Department of Health about what this means locally. Micah Pollak, Ph.D. is an associate professor of economics at Indiana University Northwest. He joined us to discuss the economic impacts of testing positive for COVID -19. And we bring back our conversation with Ken Falk, the Indiana ACLU Legal Director about the organizations reaction to the overturning of Roe v. Wade. All of that on this edition of Regionally Speaking.
