Regionally Speaking, March 1, 2022

Today: Peg McGriff with the William Henry Harrison chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution is on "Regionally Speaking" to talk about their March 16th “Indiana Vietnam Veterans Gift Event,” at the Valparaiso Public Library. The event is to thank veterans who served between 1955 and 1975 – from the first advisors sent into Vietnam to then-President Nixon’s end of the Vietnam War – for their service and to connect them with the assistance they often need but do not receive, even decades later. Indiana Youth Institute executive director Tami Silverman talks about mental health professionals' concerns that young people are not getting the help they need, not only because of the pandemic but of other issues youth face due to the ongoing struggle with racial injustice.
