Banks Named to House Armed Services Committee

Congressman Jim Banks (IN-03) has been named to the House Armed Services Committee for the 115th Congress.

“I am excited to be named to the Armed Services Committee,” Banks said. “This committee was my number one choice because I want to actively ensure our men and women in uniform receive the resources they need to protect our nation. Northeast Indiana has a strong history of military service and contributing to our national defense. I look forward to continuing that tradition as a member of the committee.”

Armed Services Committee Chairman Mac Thornberry (TX-13) stated, “"I look forward to working with Congressman Banks during this critical time in our nation as we work to rebuild our military and restore the readiness of our fighting forces. As a Navy Reservist and Afghanistan veteran, Congressman Banks knows these challenges first hand and I am counting on him to help carry the load in conducting diligent oversight of the Department of Defense and ensuring that our service members are equipped with the training and tools necessary to succeed."
