Regionally Speaking, December 15, 2021

James Whitcraft

Andy Downs, the executive director of the Mike Downs Center for Indiana Politics in Fort Wayne, is on “Regionally Speaking” to offer his “take” on the upcoming General Assembly session in Indianapolis, where lawmakers may decide on tax cuts and some way to maintain the state’s rainy day fund. They will also consider a bill that, if passed, would ban private companies from enforcing COVID vaccine mandates.

Gary native and NPR critic Eric Deggans has a review of an HBO documentary on the creation of “Sesame Street” and we revisit a conversation about a new tool available to Lake County police officers to identify and keep drug-impaired drivers off the roads. It’s especially important now that officials in both Illinois and Michigan have made the possession and use of cannabis legal in their states.
