INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — The mother of a black man who was fatally shot by an Indianapolis police officer planned to call for an independent investigation of his death Wednesday, nearly a month after he was killed following a police pursuit of a vehicle he was driving. Demetree Wynn and her family’s attorneys said in a news release they would call during a Wednesday news conference for an independent investigation of the May 6 killing of 21-year-old Dreasjon “Sean” Reed.
They will also seek the release of the Marion County Coroner’s autopsy report and for disclosure of the names of officers involved in his shooting. The development comes amid nationwide protests over police brutality.
