Fifth Avenue will be closed on the west side of Gary next week for railroad crossing repairs.
Starting as soon as Monday, Fifth Avenue will be closed between Cline and Colfax, while the Canadian National Railway rebuilds its crossing. The closure is expected to last about six days.
The Indiana Department of Transportation's official detour will follow Cline Avenue, I-80/94 and Broadway.
