Cedar Lake-area residents who may have a hard time maintaining their homes can get some help.
Each year, volunteers with Rebuilding Together of South Lake County spend a day painting, repairing and performing other needed maintenance for homeowners with limited incomes — often older residents or those with disabilities. This year's "Christmas in September Day" will be held on Saturday, September 16 and will focus on the Cedar Lake area.
Qualifying residents who'd like work done on their homes have until May 15 to apply. Applications are available at RebuildingTogetherSouthLake.com, at Cedar Lake Town Hall or at Lake County Community Services in Crown Point.
