June marks Pride Month, a time to celebrate the LGBTQ community as well as a time to reflect on the movement that continues to push for full and equal rights for members of the community. Lakeshore Public Radio is dedicated to inclusion and diversity in every aspect of our community. Lakeshore Public Radio will celebrate Pride Month with interviews with LGBTQ community members and allies to promote increased visibility and equality to a population whose members have historically been forced to conceal their identities. Lakeshore Public Radio’s Dee Dotson recently spoke with Troy Stevenson, Campaign Manager for The Trevor Project about the importance of parents of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning teens remembering that each child is unique and will have their own experiences and feelings along the way.
