Lake Area United Way Names New Interim CEO

LAKE COUNTY - Lake Area United Way has a new interim President & CEO.  Megan Sikes, Community Engagement Director for Lake Area United Way, says David Nicole, who is a native of Fort Wayne, has been named to the position.  He spent almost 20 years in the United Way Network.

He has served as the President & CEO of United Way of Allen County, Vice President of Resource Development for Trident United Way in South Carolina, and was a board member for the United Way Association of South Carolina. Nicole is also the founder of Headwinds Consulting which helps nonprofits navigate change. He will serve as the interim President & CEO while the Lake Area United Way board decides the next steps for the organization.

Nicole takes over from former President & CEO Lisa Daugherty, who was recently named the new President/CEO of The Center for Workforce Innovation.

Sharon Jackson is the local host of "All Things Considered" and a reporter for Lakeshore Public Radio. She has been with 89.1 FM since its launch in 2009. Sharon is also a radio DJ in Chicago, and has been since 2004. In her previous job at Metro Networks/Westwood One, she was heard on am 890 WLS, WGN radio 720 am and am 560 WIND. She has also delivered news and traffic reports on radio stations all over Chicago and the suburbs including 95.9 The River, 98.3 WCCQ and Star 96.7.
