LAKE COUNTY - The early voting numbers in Lake County as of Tuesday, October 22nd show that people are taking advantage of the convenience.
Leann Angerman, Assistant Director for the Lake County Board of Elections and Registration says in-person 2, 813 people so-far has showed up to the polls early.
There have been 31 people who have voted by travel board.
Other totals show that 425 people have voted by mail and three people have voted early by email. There are 11 early voting locations in Lake County, they include the location at the Board of Elections in the Lake County Government Complex, the East Chicago County Courthouse, the Gary Genesis Center, the Lake County Superior Courthouse in Hammond, the Hobart Police Command Center, Lowell Town Hall, Munster Town Hall, Schererville Town Hall, the St. John Township Assessors Office, Wicker Park Social Center and Winfield Town Hall.
The hours are Monday through Friday 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. All the early voting locations are open on Thursday nights until 7p.m. The last two Saturdays before Election Day, October 26th and November 2nd, the centers are open from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.
The last day of early voting is November 4th from 9 a.m. until noon. Election Day is November 5th.
