Portage Mayoral Debate, October 14, 2019

Lakeshore Public Radio, in partnership with the Portage Chamber of Commerce, and the League of Women Voters of Porter County, hosted the 2019 City of Portage Mayoral Forum, on Monday, October 14, 2019 at Woodland Park, in Portage, IN.

The candidates participating in the debate were John Cannon (R) and Sue Lynch (D). Tom Maloney, of Lakeshore Public Radio, moderated the debate. Chris Nolte - Lakeshore Public Radio, Marc Chase - The Times, and Beckie Guffin - League of Women Voters of Porter County served as the panelists for the debate.

Lakeshore Public Radio 89.1FM, initially known as The Lakeshore 89.1FM, first hit the airwaves across Northwest Indiana on January 19, 2010. The station was created after the board of directors for Lakeshore Public Media, which also operates our sister station Lakeshore PBS, saw the need for regional access to a public radio station in order to provide localized up-to-the-minute news and information for NW Indiana residents.
