NORTHWEST INDIANA - Gas prices in Northwest Indiana have fallen just under eight cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $2.54/g Monday, according to GasBuddy's daily survey of 314 stations in the Region. Gas prices in Northwest Indiana are just over 2 cents per gallon higher than a month ago, yet stand just under 34 cents per gallon lower than a year ago.
Patrick DeHaan, head of petroleum analysis for GasBuddy says Saudi Arabia's quick action after the attacks is what helped prices go back down.
DeHaan says the current prices of gas look even better now for consumers than before Saudi Arabia was attacked.
According to GasBuddy price reports, the cheapest station in Gary was priced at $2.30/g Monday while the most expensive is $2.89/gallon. DeHaan thinks overall as we progress towards Halloween and Thanksgiving prices will go lower.
