Regionally Speaking, Wednesday, July 10, 2019

IPBS

Today:   Natalie Johnson with "Save The Dunes" joins us to talk about two public conversations,  the first one this evening at 6:30 at the "Save The Dunes" headquarters in Michigan City and the second one scheduled for tomorrow morning at 9 o'clock at the NIRPC headquarters in Portage, that focus on the Public Trust Doctrine and how it affects Hoosiers' public access to the Lake Michigan shoreline.  Both conversations will peovide an overview of the legal battle from trial court to the U.S. Supreme Court and back to the Indiana Supreme Court -- and the General Assembly bills that addressed the shoreline access issues.

We also talked with the first declared 2020 Democratic Party candidate for Indiana Governor: Dr. Woody Myers. Dr. Myers announced his candidacy this morning in Indianapolis.

Chris Nolte produces and hosts “Regionally Speaking” aired weekdays from noon to 1:00 p.m. He's also the temporary local "Morning Edition" host.
