Today: Megan Sikes with the Lake Area United Way is with us to talk about "United In Our Community Week," the event that allows for residents to "give back to the community" with a wide variety of public volunteer projects with local non-profits. "Unity In Our Community Week" wil be held August 5th through the 9th. "Indiana Gaming Insight" newsletter editor Ed Feigenbaum also talks about the multi-faceted bill that is now law, HEA 1015. It's the measure that allows for the relocation of Gary's floating casino to dry land and the other local casino license to be shifted to Vigo County. It also allows for other chamges on Indiana's gaming landscape, including sports betting.
And Gary Mayor Karen Freeman-Wlson talks with Lakeshore Public Radio's Sharon Jackson about the just-completed 87th annual conference of the U.S. Conference of Mayors, held in Hawaii. She was the presiding officer.
