INDIANA- Indiana’s Township Trustees have voted for North Township Trustee Frank J. Mrvan as president of the organization.
The vote took place at the Indiana Township Association annual meeting in February.
Chief of Staff Lori Polgar says in that role, Mrvan will craft a legislative agenda, enhancing the role of township government.
Executive director of the ITA Debbie Driscoll says the organization is looking forward to Mrvan being a leader of the organization, as he casts a vision for all Indiana townships.
As president of the ITA, Mrvan will promote an ambitious agenda that provides resources for township trustees to help impoverished residents in Indiana’s 1,008 townships.
Mrvan says sees the role of township trustees changing from simply administering poverty assistance programs to delving into societal problems, working there to remove long-standing barriers that prevent individuals from becoming self-sufficient.
