CHESTERTON, IN - A longtime expert photographer, author and creator of best-selling book "Treasured Lands:  A Photographic Odyssey Through America's National Parks," visited Northwest Indiana to be first to photograph America's 61st National Park, Indiana Dunes National Park.

As soon as QT Luong heard that President Trump had signed the bill and created Indiana Dunes National Park, he stopped the presses on the second edition of his book, and hopped on a plane to come to the Region.

Luong also was featured in the Ken Burns movie,  “The National Parks: America’s Best Ideas."
Luong does his photography in large format, with his large wooden film camera in the tradition of Ansel Adams.

His photographs have appeared in several publications including National Geographic, Time, Life, Outside, Scientific American, and many others in dozens of countries around the world. Over the past 25 years, he has made more than 300 park visits.

The second edition of his book is set to come out later this year, possibly this summer.
