Today:   A conversation with Hoosier Environmental Council's Kim Ferraro, the agricultural policy director and chief attorney, about HB1378 that would, if passed into law, close some serious gaps in state environmental law about "factory farm" pollution.  Reps. Tom Saunders and Sue Errington co-sponsor the measure that is up for House Environmental Policy Committee review on February 13th.  Natural Prairie Dairy in Newton County and other similar operations around the state would come under the measure. We also talk with Food Bank of Northwest Indiana executive director Steve Beekman and IU Northwest professors Crystal Shannon and Tanice Foltz about this year's Women's and Gender Studies (WSG) student research conference in collaboration with the "One Book-One Campus-One Community" initiatve featuring the book 'Women and Power'.  The event takes place March 7 on the Gary campus.

Chris Nolte produces and hosts “Regionally Speaking” aired weekdays from noon to 1:00 p.m. He's also the temporary local "Morning Edition" host.
