Imperfect Produce website

Today:   Sam Lacy and Nathan Sumner from "Imperfect Produce" tell us about the produce subscription service expanding into northwest Indiana, to offer consumers fresh "ugly" produce that might otherwise end up in the landfill.  The company is opening a local warehouse on Monday, and they offer new members a discount and will partner with the Food Bank of Northwest Indiana to support local food pantries.  Byron Martin and Heath Carter from Valparaiso University also tell us about January 21st's annual Martin Luther King Jr. celebration convocation. More information is found here.

We also have another conversation from the Welcome Project at Valparaiso University, and INDOT spokesman Scott Manning talks about the new "Trucks Park Here" program that gives tired truckers a chance to find a space to park and take a break at interstate highway rest stops, like those along I-65.

Chris Nolte produces and hosts “Regionally Speaking” aired weekdays from noon to 1:00 p.m. He's also the temporary local "Morning Edition" host.
