Regionally Speaking, Monday, December 17, 2018

Ball State University

Today:   We talk to Ball State University economist Michael Hicks, the executive director of the Center for Business and Economic Research, about the recent Indiana economic outlook report into 2019 that he presented last week in Muncie.  He begins with a statewide and national look, followed by the breakdown by region, including northwest Indiana.  By the way, he thinks our region has a positive outook going into the new year.

Northwest Indiana financial advisor Greg Hammer is also with us with his list of 2019 New Years' resolutions that -- unlike the ones about diet, working out, etc. -- really should be made and honored throughout the year.  And we bring back our conversations with Ball State professor Reza Houston about the research conducted into the "sweetheart index" of business contractors with the U.S. government and a link to political donations... and with Munster native and BSU student Haley Collison.  Haley's in an immersive learning course that is helping a non-profit healthcare agency.

Chris Nolte produces and hosts “Regionally Speaking” aired weekdays from noon to 1:00 p.m. He's also the temporary local "Morning Edition" host.
