Today: Purdue University Northwest English Literature professor Carolyn Boiarsky joins us to talk about her latest book that looks into the effects of miscommunication within organizational communications. She mentions models of good communications by Enbridge Pipeline Company when it began its puipeline expansion project through Griffith, and she cites examples of miscommunication between engineers and managers prior to the 1992 Chicago flood and the BP-Deepwater Horizon oil rig spill. Her insights help writers, scientists and engineers imform their leaders and the community about a potential problem.
