Today:    We talk with town of Highland Parks and Recreation Supintendent Alex Brown about the Nov. 6th general election referendum question that asks residents about a bond issue or a lease to support the Lincoln Community Center expansion project.  The estimated cost of the project is no more than $15 million, and if it is approved would raise property tax rates in Highland by 12.43 cents per $100 assessed valuation.  Brown talks in detail about the project and its impact on the community's recreation programs.

Ball State University finance professor Reza Houston worked with researchers at universities in Colorado and Florida on a study that explains the impact of corporate political donors to federal candidates. They called it a "sweetheart deal."

And Andy Downs of the Mike Downs Center for Indiana Politics in Fort Wayne joins us to discuss last weekend's confirmation vote on U.S. Supreme Court justice nominee Brett Kavanaugh, its impact on Indiana and national politics and the upcoming debates between Senator Joe Donnelly, his GOP challenger Mike Braun and Libertarian Lucy Brenton.

Chris Nolte produces and hosts “Regionally Speaking” aired weekdays from noon to 1:00 p.m. He's also the temporary local "Morning Edition" host.
