Today:   a conversation with Lorelle Kilpatrick, one of the protestors who marched from downtown Michigan City last Saturday to the walls of the Indiana State Prison, to demand action on several issues that she says inmates in the maximum-security facility are facing these days.  She is a member of "Black Lives Matter Gary," one of the sponsors of the protest.

Valparaiso University School of Engineering Dean Eric Johnson joins us to talk about the new environmental engineering degree, classes for which will begin in the fall semester of 2019.  The new degree is aimed at preparing graduates for related jobs in northwest Indiana companies.

Northwest Indiana financial sdvisor Greg Hammer is back -- with a Labor Day look at whether we're making the right choices toward making our money work for us, even if we aren't working.

And Leah Nahmias with Indiana Humanities tells us about the 2018 "Chew on This" dinner and conversation series coming up around the Hoosier State on Wednesday, Sept. 12th.  This year's discusssion topic is"Will Machines Replace Us?"  It's a STEM-related focus on automation in everyday life. The local dinner-conversation will be held at 18th Street Brewery in Hammond.
