Today: an extended coversation with Speros Batistatos of the South Shore Convention and Visitors Authority, who attended a briefing on the feasibility study for a new convention center in Lake County. The consultant hired by the Northwest Indiana Regional Planning Commission, at the request of county government, met with Batistatos and several local officials before the study was officially released this week. He talks about potential sites, potential ways to pay for it, and the local cooperation that will be needed to make it a successful project.
