Regionally Speaking, Wednesday, May 16, 2018

Streets Blog Chicago website

Today:   Gary Public Transportation Corp. general manager Daryl Lampkins and Northwest Indiana RDA spokesman Dave Wellman are in the studio to talk about this week's Regional Transportation Summit -- a day-and-one-half-long event that begins on Thursday at the Indiana Welcome Center in Hammond.  The mission of the event is to hold "crucial conversations" dealing with the challenges, efficiencies, connectivity and growth of the Region's public transportation system.

We also bring you another edition of "Green Fleet Radio," supported by South Shore Clean Cities, with host Carl Lisek and his guest, transportation projects manager Charles Brodsky of NIRPC..

Our newest segment features "your friend in fur," Ollie, with answers to your pet questions.   "Ask Ollie" is underwritten by the Humane Society of Northwest Indiana.

And "Lakeshore Focus" host Keith Kirkpatrick talks with Dawn Michaels and Dan Klein about the "changing of the guard" at Habitat For Humanity in Lake County, for his Lakeshore PBS program.

Chris Nolte produces and hosts “Regionally Speaking” aired weekdays from noon to 1:00 p.m. He's also the temporary local "Morning Edition" host.
