Regionally Speaking, Tuesday, February 13, 2018

Porter County govt website

Today: we revisit our conversation last month with Porter County Commissioner Jeff Good about the county's major capital improvement projects and the successful bond issue that is supporting them.

We also bring you another conversation from the Welcome Project at Valparaiso University.  The Welcome Project collects first-person stories and pairs them with intentional conversations to help forge stronger ties within and across our communities. This conversation is particularly poignant, because it involves a "DREAMER."

We have a conversation with Laura Kovach, the early childhood coordinator with the School City of Hobart about their successful "Building Brickies" pre-kindergarten program. And Natalie Johnson of "Save the Dunes" talks about the organization's plans to use a Chi-Cal Rivers Fund grant for continued work on the Porter County segment of the Little Calumet River.

Chris Nolte produces and hosts “Regionally Speaking” aired weekdays from noon to 1:00 p.m. He's also the temporary local "Morning Edition" host.
