Today: On this Reporters Roundtable Thursday, we bring on "Times of Northwest Indiana" reporters Dan Carden and Joseph Pete and "Post-Tribune" reporters Carrie Napoleon and Greg Tejeda to talk about the stories they covered and wrote for online and in print.
Dan covered the General Assembly as well as updates in Healthy Indiana Plan's extension (for a while) by the federal government. Carrie Napoleon took a break from a murder trial to talk about her stories on Lake County candidates on the May 8th primary election ballot, including Jamal Washington's entrance into the 3rd District Lake County Commissioner race.
Joseph gave up an update on the Northwest Indiana steel industry, including ArcelorMittal and U.S. Steel 2017 profit reports. He also talked about the recent settlement between a long-time Region polluter and state and federal environmental agencies.
And Greg brought us up-to-date on next week's Gary Common Council meeting, where council members will deal with a city employee residency ordinance. He also talks about the approaching deadline for a feasibility study sought for the proposed Gary Civil Rights Museum and Civil Rights Hall of Fame.
