Wanted: Peanut Butter

Food Bank of Northwest Indiana

NORTHWEST INDIANA - February 1st through March 16th you may see large piles of peanut butter across Lake and Porter Counties.  The Food Bank of Northwest Indiana is having a peanut butter drive to help spread the love in the spirit of Valentine's Day and the organization invites everyone to help.  Individuals and groups across Lake and Porter counties will be holding peanut butter drives, collecting thousands of jars to be distributed to local individuals and families facing hunger this season.

And because the protein-packed food item is also shelf stable, peanut butter is one of the most popular and valuable food items for the Food Bank of Northwest Indiana partner pantries. Victor Madera, Food Sourcing Manager says peanut butter is an important staple for many.

The food bank can distribute more than 100,000 jars of peanut butter in a year!
Anyone interested in hosting a Spread the Love peanut butter drive in their school, church, or neighborhood, should contact Victor Madera at 219-318-7585.
