Regionally Speaking, Tuesday, January 30, 2018

Valparaiso University

Today:  Elizabeth Lynn, the executive director of the Institute for Leadership and Service at Valparaiso University, tells us about the spring 2018 "Pathways to Purpose" speaker series on campus, now underway through May 2nd.  This series welcomes exemplary practitioners of leadership and service, including VU alumni.  The speakers come onto campus on Wednesdays, and more information about the  program series is available here.

We also bring you another conversation from the Welcome Project at Valparaiso University.  The Project collects first-person stories and pairs them with intentional conversation to help forge stronger ties within and across our communities.  Indiana Public Broadcasting's Charlotte Tuggle completes her two-part feature on getting more women involved in college computer science programs.

And Phil Potempa of the Theatre at the Center for Visual and Performing Arts in Munster joins us to talk about the next ever-popular "From the Farm" cooking show, to be held on Sunday.  This time, it's Valentines Day themed, with Phil whipping up a tasty and romantic seven-course meal for lovers -- in two hours.  He also talks about upcoming programs and events at the Center, including the "Broadway in NWI" performances.

Chris Nolte produces and hosts “Regionally Speaking” aired weekdays from noon to 1:00 p.m. He's also the temporary local "Morning Edition" host.
