Indiana Public Broadcasting News

Today:  WalletHub.com analyst Jill Gonzalez joins us to talk about how Indiana colleges and universities fared in this  year's  "Best Colleges" national list.  And Ball State University's new president, Geoffrey Mearns, is with us to talk about his new position (he became the university's 17th president about six months ago) and the new brand and the advertising campaign that was just introduced on Monday.

Gary native Wally DeRose is in the studio to talk about his experience in law enforcement and related fields and about his running in the recent Lake County Democratic Party caucus for County Sheriff .

And, on this special election day, we bring back our conversations with School City of Hobart Superintendent Peggy Buffington and School City of Hammond Superintendent Walter Watkins and his key staff,  about their respective school districts' public referenda votes.  Both Hobart and Hammond districts are seeking additional tax revenue to cover instructional expenses for the next few years and to support capital improvement programs.   In Hammond's case, it includes  the funding authority to build a new high school building.

Chris Nolte produces and hosts “Regionally Speaking” aired weekdays from noon to 1:00 p.m. He's also the temporary local "Morning Edition" host.
