Today:  A conversation with Linda Perez, the executive director of St. Jude's House family domestic violence prevention center and shelter in Crown Point, about the facility during this 20th annual National Domestic Violence Prevention Month.  She talks about how the center's helped increase awareness of the problem.  St. Jude's House in Crown Point began with the vision of businessman Donald Burrell in 1995.

Friday is National Manufacturing Day, a way to learn more about how manufacturing has changed in the 21st Century.  Debbie Blades with Purdue University Northwest's College of Technology joins us to talk about the program of events planned for Friday around northwest Indiana and at the university's Commercialization and Manufacturing Excellence Center in Hammond.

Two-time cancer survivor Phil Zielke created "Phil's Friends" -- a way to help bring hope to cancer patients, their families and loved ones through his "Hope Centers" in Crown Point and in south suburban Chicago.  Phil tells us his story of survival and how prayer, "care packages" and weekly cards helped him, and now, others make it through the challenges of living through the ordeal of cancer..
