Being a young person can sometime be very difficult -- especially if you come from a home that's troubled because of abuse or other issues. The Lake County CASA Program was created in 1987 to represent children with the help of specially-trained volunteers appointed by judges, to make sure that the youngsters don't get lost in the legal and social service system or languish in inappropriate group of foster homes..
Liz Theodoros is volunteer recruitment coordinator of the CASA program. She came on "Regionally Speaking" on Wednesday to talk about the program, how it's helped youth for the past 30 years, and how volunteers are trained to ba able to assist the children in need. Another volunteer training program gets underway on September 19th.
