Today:  We find out more about today's  visit to Valparaiso University by Indiana Superintendent of  Public Instruction Jennifer McCormick to speak before the fall 2017 workshop of the Professional Educators Partnership.  Laurie Snell is the director of the VU-based partnership and Valparaiso elementary school principal Anne Wodetski is the chairperson of the group's steering committee.  They both talk about the Superintendent's visit and other programs this fall to be conducted by the PEP.

Indiana Public Broadcasting's Lindsey Wright toured the Indiana Medical History Museum, based in a former institution for the insane on Indianapolis' west side, and she tells us more about the museum's efforts to preserve the past in the hopes of being part of the future for Indiana medical treatment.

And Lakeshore Public Radio's Sharon Jackson talked with city of Gary spokesperson LaLosa Burns about today's special annual remembrance of the September 11th, 2001 terrorist attacks and how it impacts first responders like Gary's police officers and firefighters.

Chris Nolte produces and hosts “Regionally Speaking” aired weekdays from noon to 1:00 p.m. He's also the temporary local "Morning Edition" host.
