Regionally Speaking, Wednesday, September 6, 2017

AFSP website

Today:  a conversation with Mary Edwards, a northwest Indiana resident who (along with her husband) are personal survivors of a family suicide and how, over the past decade, she'd come to grips with the tragedy and is now devoted to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.  The AFSP is holding two local "Out of the Darkness" suicide awareness rallies this month, the first September 17th in Chesterton and the second on September 30th at Wicker Park in Highland.

This week's "Quantum Leap" STEM initiative feature takes us to Wolf Park and how the legacy of researcher Erich Klinghammer is kept alive every day on a farm outside the town of Battleground.  And "CounterPoint" host Garrard McClendon and his guests take up the subject of "populism" and how politicians and citizens fit into the definition.

Chris Nolte produces and hosts “Regionally Speaking” aired weekdays from noon to 1:00 p.m. He's also the temporary local "Morning Edition" host.
