YouTube

Today:  a conversation with Lake County Democratic Party chairman Jim Weiser, who called for a special precinct committee member caucus on Saturday, September 16th to choose a new Lake County Sheriff.  He talks about the process of finding candidates to fill the rest of former Sheriff John Buncich's term of office and what Weiser hopes will be the beginning of a new era in local government.

Thais Carter of  Valparaiso University's Institute for Leadership and Service talks about this year's "Pathways to Purpose" speaker series beginning next month.  The series brings in field experts and service-based leaders to respond to the deepest challenges of our time, and encourage student leadership.

We bring you another conversation from the Welcome Project at Valparaiso University, this time a young Hispanic woman who overcame challenges to be able to attend college.  Blase Lukasiewicz with the Munster-based Calumet Council, Boy Scouts of America joins us to talk about the "Blast into Scouting" campaign -- underway through September 14th -- to bring in more young men into Scouting.

And we bring back our conversation with Sinai Forum executive director Leslie Plesac about the latest series of speakers at the Westville campus beginning September 10th with MSNBC program host Joe Scarborough.

Chris Nolte produces and hosts “Regionally Speaking” aired weekdays from noon to 1:00 p.m. He's also the temporary local "Morning Edition" host.
